Nassau Man Points Gun At Postal Worker From 2nd-Story Window: Police

A Nassau man faces weapon and menacing charges after police say he pointed a gun at a postal worker Thursday.

BALDWIN, NY — A Baldwin man has been arrested and faces weapon and menacing charges after police said he pointed a gun at a postal worker Thursday morning.

Dwayne White, 42, of Everett Court, yelled and pointed a black object at the mail carrier, who was delivering mail on Eva Court around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, police said. At the time, White was in a second-floor window on Eva Court, police said.

The postal worker feared it was a gun, ran and called 911.

Police arrived and took White into custody without incident. No one was hurt.

White faces charges of second-degree menacing, fourth degree criminal weapon possession and third-degree criminal weapon possession (ammunition feeding device).

He was scheduled to appear in Hempstead district court Friday.
