Colletti, Hawley Receive Pre-Season Baseball Honors
Christian Colletti and David Hawley were both honored as one of the best young players in the high school circuit.

Two key baseball players on South Side High School's Conference A-II championship last year were recently honored with preseason awards heading into the 2012 season.
Christian Colletti, the left-handed ace of the Cyclones pitching staff, was selected to the Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Northeast Region All High School Senior 1st Team.
The Rawlings Preseason All-Region 1st Team recognizes 400 players from eight regions around the country. Each of the regions will form a 50-man roster, complete with catchers, pitchers, infielders and outfielders.

Colletti has committed to pitch next season at the University of Connecticut.
“To receive the Rawlings Preseason All-American or All-Region Award is a tremendous achievement for these high school athletes,” said Jerry Ford, president of Perfect Game USA.

South Side centerfielder David Hawley, named by Patch as the of the 2011 season, was named an honorable mention in the Perfect Game USA Preseason All-American Teams.
The Perfect Game Preseason All American 1st, 2nd and 3rd team recognizes 300 players from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Each team consists of 100 players who are currently juniors or sophomores in high school. There is also a high honorable mention and an honorable mention list to identify other potential top underclassmen.
Hawley played a stellar centerfield for the Cyclones in 2011, batted .297 and led the team in steals (9).
