Crime Watch Part Two: Man Chokes Cabbie, Crashes Taxi into Pole
Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:
On June 7 at 1:04 p.m., a Lynbrook resident reported that an unknown person stole her cell phone the prior evening while she was at Kasey’s Restaurant, located at 23 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre. The victim further reported that she is receiving text messages from a person illegally withholding the phone who requested money in exchange for the stolen property.
On June 10 at 4:10 p.m., a complainant from N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between May 25 at 8 a.m. and May 28 4 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a cast iron urn valued at $100 from in front of her residence.

On June 10 at 7:30 p.m., a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between June 9 at 11:45 p.m. and June 10 at noon, unknown person(s) stole an EZ Pass from a 2008 Lincoln that was parked in the driveway of his residence.
On June 10 at 9 p.m., a complainant from Oak Street in Massapequa reported that on June 8 at approximately 11:55 p.m., a female acquaintance stole her Apple iPhone valued at $800 from the bar while they were at McFadden’s, located at 210 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

On June 9 at 3:15 p.m., a complainant from Lawson Avenue in East Rockaway reported that sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., unknown person(s) stole a Samsung LCD television valued at $400 from his Ford while it was parked at Skelos Field on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre.

Unusual Incident:
On June 4 at 4:47 p.m., a Sherman Avenue resident reported that an unknown person made unauthorized changes to her cable service account and has been opening her U.S. Mail without authorization.
On June 8 at 5 p.m., a complainant from Knollwood Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown male subject attempted to open the front door of her residence without permission.
On June 12 at 6 p.m., a complainant from Vernon Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) filed a tax return using her personal information without authorization.
Identity Theft:
On June 12 at 1:50 p.m., a complainant from N. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) applied for a $698.54 loan using her personal information without authorization.
Graffiti:
On June 4 at 9:08 a.m., police personnel identified graffiti on a street sign located on the Sunrise Highway spur to Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.
Property Damage:
On June 4 at 5:43 p.m., a Freeport resident reported that her motor vehicle bumper was damaged by unknown means while it was parked in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue and Yale Place in Rockville Centre.
On June 9 at 7:46 a.m., a complainant from Burtis Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 2:30 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged the Anderson storm door valued at $1,200 located in front of his residence.
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing:
On June 10 at 2 a.m., complainant taxi driver from Biltmore Avenue in Elmont reported that an unknown male passenger did choke him while he was driving in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre causing his 2005 Ford to collide with a light pole and building; the unknown male passenger fled on foot on N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre.
Harassment:
On June 9 at 3:30 a.m., a complainant from Harold Street in Oceanside reported that a group of approximately ten unknown male subjects did fight with him and his friends while in Municipal Parking Field No. 8 in Rockville Centre and he was punched in the face resulting in a contusion to his right eye.
On June 8 at 1:30 p.m., a complainant teacher from Riverside School, located at 110 Riverside Drive in Rockville Centre, reported that she was harassed by a student’s mother between June 6 and June 8.
