DMV Locations Across LI Close Early Due To Impending Severe Weather

LONG ISLAND, NY — As the severe weather tracks toward Long Island with heavy rain and flooding expected, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles announced an early closing on Tuesday at locations across Long Island.

The Hempstead Turnpike location was scheduled to shut at 2:30 p.m.

Also closing at 2:30 p.m. were the Suffolk branches in Huntington (East Jericho Turnpike), Hauppauge (Vets Highway), Medford (Route 112) and Riverhead (Old Country Road).

Anyone with a postponed reservation will be honored with five business days, the DMV said.
