Election 2024: Democratic Primaries Across Nassau County
Check out the races before heading to the polls on Tuesday.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Tuesday is primary day across Nassau County. There are only a handful of races sending voters to the polls.
Democrats will decide between Brad Schwartz and Kim Keiserman to represent the State Senate 7th District in a general election matchup with the incumbent Jack Martins (R).
Keiserman is a two-decade resident of Port Washington. She served as commissioner on the North Hempstead Housing Authority Board, President of the Port Washington Democratic Club and a Zone Leader for the Nassau County Democratic Committee.

The 7th District covers a large portion of Northern Nassau.

Two Assembly districts are holding primaries. The 18th is an open race with seat holder Taylor Darling vying for state Senate.
Noah Burroughs faces Lisa Ortiz in Tuesday's primary. Ortiz is the founder of Creative Little Learners, a childcare program serving families in Lakeview. She also serves as executive member of the NAACP Lakeview Branch.
Judy Griffin, the former Assemblymember for the 21st District, seeks a rematch with incumbent Brian Curran (R), who defeated her in 2022. But first, Griffin faces Patricia Maher in the primary.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
