Family Fears LI Girl, 17, Reported Missing Could Be Trafficking Victim

Catherine Berger was last seen leaving Baldwin High School on Wednesday afternoon, police say. Her aunt said she could be headed upstate.

BALDWIN, NY — Catherine Berger, a 17-year-old girl, was reported missing on Friday after she was last seen leaving Baldwin High School on Wednesday, Nassau police said. Her family is fearing that the girl could be a trafficking victim, the girl's aunt told Patch.

Police described Catherine as white, 5 feet 6 inches and 110 pounds with brown eyes, medium length straight dark hair, a slight build and a light complexion. She was last seen wearing a camouflage sweater, jeans, and black boots.

Catherine was walking towards Grand Avenue when she was last seen, police said.

Catherine's aunt, Crystal, reached out to Patch to say Catherine has ADHD and has impulse control issues.

"She requires medication and needs supervision," Crystal Berger told Patch.

Crystal said she believes Catherine could be heading upstate with an unknown destination to meet an unknown man.

"We are concerned for her well-being and are fearing trafficking," Crystal said.
