Holocaust Museum Denounces Attack On Jews In Amsterdam

GLEN COVE, NY — The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC) condemns attacks on members of the Jewish community and Israelis in Amsterdam following a recent soccer match.

"This violence is an affront to the values of tolerance, respect, and coexistence that our society should uphold," the museum spokesperson said in a statement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent two planes to rescue the athletes and other Israelis in Amsterdam.

Ten Israelis were hurt in rampaging pogroms, the Post said.

Jews were run over by cars, stabbed, thrown into the river, beaten till unconscious and in some cases potentially kidnapped, the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center said.
