Items Worth $1,500 Stolen From Nassau Victoria's Secret: Police

Two women were charged for the January incident, police said.

OCEANSIDE, NY — Two women were arrested on Thursday for stealing more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from the Victoria's Secret shop in Oceanside, police said.

The incident happened on January 4 when one woman exited the Long Beach Road store without paying, police said.

One of the women had a baby against her body in a carrier, police said.

The woman fled in a Honda Civic.

Domenica Rivera Mendieta, 25, and Katherine Cabrera Tapia, 27, of Queens are charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Tapia also has a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

They were issued appearance tickets to return on April 11.

Further investigation revealed that Mendieta has an outstanding warrant of removal pending with US Immigration Customs Enforcement and has been placed into their custody, police said.
