Judge Grants 3-Month Postponement In Santos Sentencing

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Judge Joanna Seybert has granted a three-month postponementin the sentencing of George Santos.

Santos was seeking a six-month delay, while prosecutors wanted the sentencing his federal fraud case to move forward next month.

In her ruling, Seybert wrote that granting the short adjournment is a "one-time courtesy."

Seybert added: "No further extensions of the deadlines set forth above will be granted, absent extraordinary circumstance."

Sentencing is scheduled for April 25. Santos pled guilty to fraud, campaign finance and embezzlement charges.
