Lynbrook H.S. Names Top 2 Students For Graduating Class
Calden Lung is the valedictorian and Nora Kane is the school's salutatorian.

LYNBROOK, NY — Lynbrook High School has named its top two students for the Class of 2024.
Seniors Calden Lung and Nora Kane are the school's valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
Lung achieved a 104.75 grade point average, but he is much more than his academic accomplishments.

Lung has been playing lacrosse since he was 4 years old and will continue his on-field feats at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
For his science course, Lung conducted college-level research regarding treatment for COVID-19 by using artificial intelligence.

"I’m looking forward to meeting new people – to collaborate and work with them on
projects that can benefit the world," Lung said.
A vice president of the National Honor Society, Lung's specific area of study at M.I.T. is yet to be determined, but he is leaning toward computer science or artificial intelligence.
As the school's salutatorian, Kane has a 104.52 grade point average. She has performed professional-level experimentation in her science research course. Additionally, Kane was named a finalist in the prestigious 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.
She also serves as head captain of the swim team.
Kane hasn't decided on a college yet.
Lung and Kane are co-captains of the Mathletes team.
