Majority Of LIers Take Flu Shot, COVID-19 Updated Booster: Poll
Mount Sinai South Nassau conducted its third "Truth in Medicine" poll of the year with 600 respondents.
OCEANSIDE, NY — As families get their holiday plans in order, not everyone is planning to get the necessary vaccinations.
A Mount Sinai South Nassau "Truth in Medicine" poll indicates that only 56 percent of respondents have the updated COVID-19 booster shot.
Fewer than two-thirds (61 percent) of the 600 poll respondents have received a flu vaccine this season.

The two main reasons for Long Islanders and city dwellers not getting the flu shot are "It makes me sick," and "I never get one," according to the survey.
Regarding the COVID-19 bivalent booster, a common reply for not wanting it is, they "do not believe it is safe" or they "do not believe they need it."

This is Mount Sinai South Nassau's 14th poll and third of 2022. It was conducted between Nov. 14-20.
