Molloy University Holds Annual MLK Day Of Service
The goal is to inspire others to take action within their communities.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Molloy University hosts its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday.
The day begins with a keynote presentation, "Cultivating Call and Response for Service and Social Action," by Lisa Zakiya Newland, Chairperson of Molloy's Department of Social Work.
Thereafter, a mini resource fair will be held, during which attendees will interact with non-profit organizations as they showcase a variety of service activities.

Among the activities:
- Smile Bags Workshop where students decorate and assemble “smile bags” for distribution to children and teens in local hospitals
- Literacy Care Packages Workshop where students will prepare books and other language and literacy materials for underserved communities locally and abroad.
- Hands-on CPR and NARCAN training workshops where students will prepare books and other language and literacy materials for underserved communities locally and abroad.
It starts at 9:15 in the Public Square of the Molloy campus.
