Molloy University Settles Suit For Students To Get COVID-19 Refunds
The lawsuit was filed in August 2020 for reimbursement due to the school's closing during the pandemic.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Molloy University is in the process of settling a lawsuit regarding a tuition refund from the pandemic.
The class action suit, which was filed in August 2020, sought reimbursement for "tuition and/or fees to attend Molloy for an in person," court documents indicate.
The school has agreed to pay $1.5 million, News 12 reported.

"Molloy University, similar to many other universities and colleges throughout the United States, is resolving a class-action lawsuit regarding the move to online instruction during the 2020 Spring semester compelled by the COVID-19 lockdown," the school said in a statement.
This settlement process is being managed by a neutral third-party administrator, CPT Group, with final court approval expected in the fall of 2023, Molloy announced.

At this stage, those students who might be eligible to participate are being notified individually via email from the CPT Group, the school said.
Classmates had their studies moved online only during the spring and summer semesters of 2020. Undergraduate students paid in excess of $15,000 per year to attend Molloy University.
