Motorist Detained By ICE After Nassau Road Rage Incident: Police
He intentionally slammed into the other vehicle and then hit his car with a closed fist multiple times, police say.
BALDWIN, NY — A motorist was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after a Nassau road rage incident Wednesday, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the incident took place at 5:55 p.m. in Baldwin, in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Milburn Avenue.
Alfredo Ushpa Ortiz, 30, of Shirley, who was driving a Toyota pickup truck, had a verbal argument with an 18-year-old, police said. The argument escalated and Ortiz intentionally collided with the rear of the teen's sedan, police said.

Both drivers pulled over and Oritz became irate, striking the teen's vehicle with a closed fist multiple times before fleeing the scene, police said.
A short time later, police located Ortiz and placed him into custody without incident, authorities said.

Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that Ortiz had an outstanding warrant of removal pending with ICE, police said.
He was arrested, charged with two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, was released on an appearance ticket, and was then taken into custody by ICE, police said.
