Nassau's 'The Illusion' Getting Inducted Into LI Music Hall Of Fame

STONY BROOK, NY — A band that paved the way for what would become the "Long Island Sound," is getting inducted into the Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF).

"The Illusion," from West Hempstead and Franklin Square, is heading to Stony Brook this weekend for the ceremony.

Members John Vinci, Mike Maniscalco, Rich Cerniglia, Chuck Alder and Mike Ricciardella will take the LIMEHOF Exhibition Hall stage on Oct. 7. It will mark the group's first performance in more than a half-century. Tickets are sold out for the induction, reunion performance.

"The Illusion" got the attention of acclaimed songwriter/producer Jeff Barry, who signed them to his record label and penned their first hit "Did You See Her Eyes?"

They would go on to share the stage with such acts as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Chicago and Th Hassles (with Billy Joel).
