Patch AM Rewind: Former News 12 Anchor Jackie Lukas Returns To TV
The broadcast journalist is telling stories for Catholic Faith Network in Uniondale.

UNIONDALE, NY — Jackie Lukas, known for her anchoring at News 12, is back on TV. She recently joined Catholic Faith Network (formerly Telecare) based in Uniondale.
"For now, I'm finding really great stories to tell," Lukas, a guest on Thursday's "Patch AM," said.
Along with a focus on inspirational and uplifting stories, another difference from her 16 years at News 12, CFN gives her more time to tell those stories.

"Anybody in news [knows], you get like a minute-30, and you beg for 15 more seconds," she said. "Now I'm doing like five to seven-minute stories, which is really exciting and different for me."
Lukas was among a handful of anchors to get laid off in January by the Altice-owned cable station.

Working for the Catholic Faith Network since last month, Lukas has separately reconnected with her religion in the last two years of the pandemic. But Lukas admits she's not expert on the Bible, as she pointed out on her interview.
"Don't worry, that's not why you're here," she was told. "That's why we have the priests and monsignors here."
While moving on with her challenges, Lukas does have fond memories from News 12.
"My time there was wonderful," she said. "I have no regrets. I met amazing people, told amazing stories and had amazing co-workers."
