Rally Scheduled Wednesday In Support Of South Side Girls Soccer

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A rally is planned for Wednesday afternoon at South Side High School.

The gathering is in support of the girls' soccer team as the Rockville Centre School Board voted not to renew the contracts of the coaches, despite recommendations from the athletic director and superintendent, the RVC Network posted to its Facebook page.

The rally is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There is confusion and sadness among the South Side faithful as the coaches took the girls' soccer team all the way to a county championship in the spring, with head coach Jenn Abgarian at the helm, the Facebook post said.

It was South Side's first county title since 2014.
