Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. The fall flushing takes place from Wednesday, Oct. 23 to Tuesday, Oct. 29. Although the water is safe to drink during the hydrant flushing, some discolored water may flow into homes and businesses. It could stain laundry, so it's advise to avoid projects that require clear water. The schedule: Wednesday, October 23 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. All of the area of the Village North of DeMott Avenue. Thursday, October 24 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The area of the Village between Lakeview Avenue and DeMott Avenue, west of Long Beach Road. Friday, October 25 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The area of the Village between Sunrise Highway and DeMott Avenue, east of Long Beach Road. Monday, October 28 between midnight to 8 a.m. The entire area of the Village between Lakeview Avenue and Merrick Road.
