RVC Hydrant Flushing Next Month; Could Lead To Discolored Water

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Residents may be impacted by the next round of hydrant flushing in Rockville Centre.

The Water Department performs the routine check twice a year.

The fall flushing takes place from Wednesday, Oct. 23 to Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Although the water is safe to drink during the hydrant flushing, some discolored water may flow into homes and businesses. It could stain laundry, so it's advise to avoid projects that require clear water.

Wednesday, October 23 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
All of the area of the Village North of DeMott Avenue.
Thursday, October 24 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The area of the Village between Lakeview Avenue and DeMott Avenue, west of Long Beach Road.
Friday, October 25 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The area of the Village between Sunrise Highway and DeMott Avenue, east of Long Beach Road.
Monday, October 28 between midnight to 8 a.m.
The entire area of the Village between Lakeview Avenue and Merrick Road.
