Snow Prep With Several Inches Of Snow Likely
Parts of Long Island could see as much as six inches by midday Friday.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The first snowfall of the season appears to be tracking to Long Island. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Nassau County from midnight to noon. The county is expecting 4 to 6 inches of snow.
The worst conditions are forecast for the Friday morning drive.
In Rockville Centre, the village's Department of Public Works is preparing to respond to keep the 53 miles of roads clean and 30 parking fields.

Residents can do their part by removing cars from the road and limiting driving during peak snowfall, a spokesperson for the village said.
Property owners are reminded to clear any snow and ice from fire hydrants, giving a wide enough space for firefighters.

Additionally, the village cautions that throwing snow from the driveway, or from sidewalks to the street, is a code violation that could lead to a summons.
