Town Board Approves Rezoning Plan For Oceanside Jewish Center
The proposal would create six two-story condominiums on the synagogue's land.

OCEANSIDE, NY — A resolution was approved by the Hempstead Town Board to redevelop the Oceanside Jewish Center into a complex of condominium buildings.
The board voted unanimously, 6-0 on Tuesday, to turn the synagogue property into 59 townhouses on Brower Avenue, a spokesperson for the town said.
The rezoning petition was filed by Fieldstone at Oceanside LLC, as the contract vendee for the Oceanside Jewish Center, which owns the land, the petition states.

The proposal would have Fieldstone constructing six two-story condominiums, comprised of 14 three-bedroom units (2,023 square feet each) and 45 two-bedroom units (1,745 square feet each).
With the rezoning approval, Fieldstone can develop the parcel "in substantial accordance with the Alignment Plan prepared by Nelson & Pope," the petition said.
