Tyler Flach's Sentencing For Stabbing Oceanside Teen Postponed: DA
Flach was convicted of 2nd-degree murder for killing Khaseen Morris, 16, in 2019. His new attorneys plan to file to overturn the verdict.

OCEANSIDE, NY— The sentencing of Tyler Flach, convicted of stabbing 16-year-old Khaseen Morris in Freeport in 2019, has been postponed until the end of January, the Nassau County District Attorney's office confirmed. Flach, 21, from Lido Beach, was found guilty of second-degree murder in November for the stabbing death of Morris.
Morris was a student at Oceanside High School, and according to Nassau County prosecutors, was attacked by Flach who "intentionally stabbed Morris in the chest, piercing his heart" during a brawl between two groups, spurred by a romantic feud.
Flach's attorney Samantha Chorny, part of a new defense team, told reporters that the team needs more time to file a motion to vacate the verdict.

"We feel that this case will end up being fully reversed or the judgment will be modified in the end via the appeal," she said.
Defense attorneys say Flach's original defense was ineffective, and didn't call enough witnesses, and that the evidence "at best, can sustain a manslaughter charge."
