UPDATE: Home Invasion Suspect Still on the Lam

Suspect tried to burglarize a Maple Avenue apartment, officials said.

A man broke into a Maple Avenue apartment at 11 a.m. on Friday, but when he was confronted by a resident inside the home, the suspect fled out of the same window he entered from, officials said.

According to village spokesman Jeff Kluewer, a man hopped through a window of a Maple Avenue apartment near Powell Road on Friday morning. The resident was home, Kluewer explained, and when confronted by the burglar, asked the suspect what he was doing. The suspect answered that he, "had the wrong apartment" and exited through the same window he came in.

The suspect did not leave with any property, Kluewer said, and the resident was unharmed and called the police. Kluewer added that he did not have a description of the burglar, and that he is still on the run.
