Village Halts Garbage Pickup, Street Parking From First Snowfall
Rockville Centre declared a snow emergency until 9 a.m.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The dig out is underway from the fast-moving, but intense storm. In Rockville Centre, the village has cancelled street parking from the season's first snow event. Garbage and recycling pick-up was also suspended on Friday so sanitation workers could focus on snow removal.
Mayor Francis Murray declared a Snow Emergency from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m.
All village offices had a delayed opening of 10 a.m.
