Weekend New Cassel House Fire Starts In Detached Garage: Police

The fire is not considered suspicious, police said.

NEW CASSEL, NY — A New Cassel home was on fire on Saturday evening. It happened just before 6:30 p.m. at a residence on Sheridan Street, where officers noticed the detached garage fully engulfed in flames, police said.

The Westbury Fire Department and Hicksville Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad were on the scene. The fire is not considered suspicious, police said.
