Without Incumbent Thomas, Senate Primary Pits Darling Against Bynoe
Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

GARDEN CITY, NY — With incumbent state Senator Kevin Thomas not seeking reelection, Tuesday's Democratic primary for the 6th District pits Assemblywoman Taylor Darling against Siela Bynoe of the Nassau County Legislature.
Darling has been in the Assembly since Jan. 1, 2019. She announced her bid for the state senate when Thomas decided to run for Congress. Thomas suspended his campaign to unseat Rep. Anthony D'Esposito in February.
Bynoe comes to the primary having been commissioner of the North Hempstead Housing Authority. In 2010, she was elected to the Westbury School Board.
