RYE, NY — A Port Chester man might not have had the best situational awareness, according to a recent report from Rye police.
On Wednesday, at 12:35 p.m., a sergeant was traveling east on Locust Avenue, at Theodore Fremd Avenue, in a marked patrol car, when a 2014 Nissan Sentra pulled out in front of his vehicle from a parking spot, the City of Rye Police Department said.
After stopping the car and talking to the driver, 45-year-old Mario R. Monroy, the sergeant noted signs of intoxication. Monroy went on to fail standardized field sobriety tests, according to police.
