Driver Of Hummer H3 Arrested For Doing 'Donuts' At Rye Rec Center

The 45-year-old New Rochelle man was charged with criminal mischief, and released on his own recognizance, with a court date in July.

CITY OF RYE, NY — A middle-aged man was arrested for some seriously childish behavior, according to a report from police.

The City of Rye Police Department says that on Saturday, around 6:50 p.m., they received several calls about a person in a black Hummer H3 doing "donuts" on the grass in front of the Rye Recreation Center's main building, on Midland Ave.

Once on the scene, Rye police officers found the vehicle and saw the damage to the grass.

Police then arrested 45-year-old James D. Wilson, of New Rochelle. He was charged with misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Wilson was processed and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Rye City Court on July 1.
