The Maserati heist from the Greenhaven neighborhood during the early morning hours of July 4 was almost stymied. An officer witnessed the theft taking place and tried to apprehend the suspects. The resulting car chase led to the stolen car crossing into Connecticut. The pursuit was ended because of dangerous speeds and reckless driving by the thieves.
The stolen Maserati was then used in at least four commercial burglaries in both Connecticut and Massachusetts before being recovered in Wolcott, Connecticut.
