Thieves Are Targeting Unoccupied Homes In Rye, According To Police

RYE, NY — The City of Rye Police Department says that a residential burglary took place on Colby Ave. at some point over the weekend, and that the perpetrators may be targeting unoccupied homes.

Police are advising residents to secure their homes and property. Before leaving home, residents should ensure that their house alarm is armed and all doors and windows are locked.

As it appears that the thieves are looking for jewelry, designer bags and cash, police advise that any valuables should be secured in a safe or a safety deposit box.
