19-Year-Old Arrested After High-Speed Crash on LIE: Police
Four people were injured, one seriously, after the teen, driving a BMW "recklessly," crashed into a Jeep, which flipped over several times.

RONKONKOMA, NY – A 19-year-old man was arrested for reckless driving after a crash on the Long Island Expressway Wednesday afternoon that injured four people, one seriously, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Louis Dimuro, of Medford, was driving a 2013 BMW west on the LIE at a "high rate of speed" and switching lanes "recklessly" when he collided with a 2007 Jeep at about 3:50 p.m. between exits 58 and 59 in Ronkonkoma.
The Jeep flipped over several times. The front seat passenger in the Jeep, 41-year-old Maria Chica, of Brentwood, suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The three backseat passengers, Rosana Xiques, 44, of Bay Shore, Reina Andrade, 54, of Port Jefferson Station, and Doris Arauju-Deromero, 51, of Bay Shore, suffered minor injuries. All of the injured were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dimuro and the driver of the Jeep, 63-year-old Alfredo Deras-Mena, of Central Islip, were not injured.
Dimuro was charged with reckless driving. He was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Thursday.
