2 Smoke Shop Workers Sold Marijuana Products To Minors In Selden: Police
The arrests took place during an investigation by the 6th Precinct and Suffolk's Department of Health, Suffolk police said.
SELDEN, NY — Two people were arrested Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge of unlawfully dealing with a child in connection with selling marijuana products, vapes, and e-cigarettes to minors at Selden smoke shops, Suffolk police said.
The people included a 62-year-old from Ronkonkoma, employed by Smoke Shop, and a 22-year-old from Mount Sinai, employed by Selden Smoke Shop, according to police. Officers seized more than 1,200 flavored vape products from Smoke Shop, and more than 1,800 flavored vape products, as well as more than 700 cannabis products, police said.
The 22-year-old was additionally charged with third-degree criminal sale of cannabis, also a misdemeanor, according to police.

The arrests were the result of an investigation by 6th Precinct Crime Section officers, along with members of the county's Department of Health's Tobacco Enforcement into the sale of marijuana products and e-liquid nicotine, police said.
The investigation was prompted by community complaints, police said, adding that two additional Selden businesses found in compliance with the law.

Both people were released on desk appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
