3 Ejected After Car Blows Tire on Long Island Expressway
Five people in all were injured after the car crashed into a guardrail and overturned early Sunday, police say.

Five people were injured in a crash triggered by a blown tire on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday, police said.
Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash on at about 2:45 a.m. According to police, a 21-year-old man was driving a 2015 Honda Civic east between exits 61 and 62 when one of the tires on the car blew out.
The Honda then struck the guardrail and overturned. There were four passengers in the vehicle, one in the front seat and three in the back seat. The three back seat passengers were ejected, two onto the roadway and one onto the side of the roadway. All five occupants of the vehicle, who police did not name, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Ronkonkoma and Holtsville fire departments responded to the scene.
Ronkonkoma, NY- Suffolk Highway Patrol and multiple EMS units responded to the east bound lanes of the L.I.E. east of exit 61 after a car overturned ejecting 3 teenagers into the roadway.
