Brookhaven Hosts Meetings Addressing Challenges Faced By Disabled
The first meeting will take place at the Middle Country Library in Centereach.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Brookhaven officials will hist a series of Disability Task Force Community Town Hall meetings starting on Sept. 10 at Middle Country Public Library in Centereach.
The first meeting will focus on Council District 3, including Lake Grove, Centereach, Selden, and parts of Lake Ronkonkoma, Farmingville, Port Jeff Station, and Holtsville, which are represented by in Councilman Neil Manzella.
The meetings will provide residents with the opportunity to share life experiences and general concerns, including the accessibility of town properties, services, streets, sidewalks, bus stops, bus shelters, and more.

The meetings have been scheduled as a recommendation from the town's Disability Task Force.
The task force was formed in 2014 for people with disabilities and their families or caregivers who face daily challenges.

Its mission is to provide officials with information and recommendations that will help develop programs and improve facilities to accommodate and offer equal opportunities for residents with special needs and allow them to be active members of the community.
Manzella will address the audience at the first meeting and provide opening and closing remarks.
Meeting attendees will be limited to three minutes each to make a statement, and due to time constraints, no audience questions will be accepted.
