Brookhaven Notebook: Town Reps Attend Various 9/11 Ceremonies
Throughout the week, Brookhaven officials showed their support.

With various functions taking place around the Town of Brookhaven to honor the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, Brookhaven officials attended many events to lend their support last week.
On Sunday, September 11, Supervisor Mark Lesko and Councilwoman Jane Bonner were guest speakers at the Sound Beach Fire Department’s 9-11 Memorial ceremony held at the Sound Beach fire house.
Residents from the Sound Beach community joined local elected officials to honor those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks 10 years ago on September 11, 2001 and dedicate the memorial, which consisted of a piece of steel girder from the World Trade Center, according to the town.

We will never forget their sacrifice and we must be diligent in our efforts to share with their heroic stories with the next generation of Americans.”
That day, Lesko was a guest speaker at the Bellport Village 9-11 Memorial ceremony held at the Bellport Marina.
