Cape Air To Fly Between Boston And Long Island MacArthur Airport 4 Times Daily
The new Tecnam P2012 Traveller will offer passengers "a modern, stylish, and highly capable twin-engine aircraft," officials say.
RONKONKOMA, NY — Starting July 3, Cape Air will be flying between Long Island MacArthur Airport and Boston Logan International four times daily, with fares as low as $249 one way, officials say.
The New England regional airline will use gate B15 in the central terminal at the airport for "exceptional convenience," and will fly the new Tecnam P2012 Traveller on the route, offering passengers "a modern, stylish, and highly-capable twin-engine aircraft perfect for connecting short hops to Boston," according to a news release.
The Hyannis, MA-based airline has been one of the largest commuter airlines in the United States, serving 34 cities in the US and Caribbean since 1989. It has grown from three flights a day between Provincetown and Boston in 1989 to a fleet of 98 aircraft, offering more than 300 flights a day, and carrying around 400,000 passengers annually.

Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter said that the town, which operates the airport, has had "so much success bringing new airlines to Islip over the past several years, and Long Island MacArthur Airport customers are enjoying the outcomes of the airport’s work with air service development."
“When JetBlue decided to discontinue its plans to serve Boston as planned for the summer of 2025, we were disappointed on behalf of our customers. We’re glad to say Boston is back at ISP thanks to Cape Air with 4 times daily service and year-round flights," she added.

Aviation Commissioner Rob Schneider said the airline "recognized an opportunity to expand its wings in the Northeast from convenient MacArthur Airport."
"We’re delighted to offer business travelers an excellent schedule and frequency to easily fly to Boston,” he said.
Linda Markham, Cape Air President and Chief Executive Officer said she looks "forward to connecting Islip with Boston and sharing Cape Air’s outstanding customer said and convenient flight schedules."
“We are confident that this innovative aircraft will provide an exceptional flying experience for our passengers and the communities we serve. We look forward to seeing the P2012 Traveller inaugurate our service at Long Island MacArthur Airport,” she added.
