Centereach Woman Arrested In 2022 Crash That Left 2 Seriously Hurt In Central Islip

She was arrested at the 6th Precinct in Selden on Thursday, Suffolk police said.

CENTEREACH, NY — A Centereach woman has been charged in connection with leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured two pedestrians in Central Islip in October, Suffolk police said Thursday.

Kristina Manico, 34, was arrested at the 6th Precinct in Selden and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury, according to police.

Manico is believed to have been behind the wheel of a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound on Suffolk Avenue when it struck a man and woman at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue, and then sped away, at around 10:20 p.m., police said.

The two victims, a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman from Central Islip, were taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries.

Manico is scheduled to be arraigned in Suffolk County Court in Riverside on Thursday.
