CMM Cares Adopted Family Program Lessens Burdens of LI Families
With the help of prominent local businesses, nonprofit CMM Cares raised over $60,000 this month

RONKONKOMA, NY – CMM Cares was founded with the belief that the Long Island business community can make a tremendous, lasting impact on the lives of our community members when we come together. What makes this nonprofit different is that they’re in it for the long-haul. With the launch of their Adopted Family initiative, they’ve undergone a rigorous mission to seek out struggling families on Long Island and directly support their unique needs. To date, they’ve helped four families: a family of four who lost their home in a fire, a veteran who struggles with Parkinson’s disease, a teen boy with a rare, painful skin condition, and a single mother of four who suffered the sudden and tragic loss of her fiancé. Their Adopted Family initiative allows them to provide these families with long-term care that helps ease their individual burdens.
On Thursday, October 7th, CMM Cares hosted its annual Wine and Dine Benefit Gala to support their Adopted Families of 2021 and honor new board members. The highly anticipated event was hosted at Flowerfield in St. James and featured a buffet-style array of exotic cuisines from the likes of South Africa, New Zealand, and Chile. Local musicians from Stony Brook’s Jazz Loft performed while over 120 attendees enjoyed cocktails and fine wines from Long Island’s Romano Brand Wines. The event’s success was twofold: attendees were humbly reminded of the altruism and unity that is deeply instilled within the Long Island business community, and proceeds raised will allow CMM Cares to continue to help more families in 2022 and beyond. This gala signified the culmination of all of their 2021 efforts, and the launch of their 2022 endeavors.
“Reflecting upon this past year of unprecedented hardship for so many people, it’s incredible to see the tremendous support we’ve received from the business community and to witness the happiness we’ve been fortunate to give to these families. I cannot say enough about how proud I am to be part of such a generous, caring community,” said CMM Cares Executive Director, Victoria Tringone.
