It's only been two short years since Davon Lawrence wore the Black & Gold at Sachem North.
This past weekend he arrived on the college football scene with his first major statistical gains at Stony Brook as the Seawolves romped St. Anselm, 55-6.
Lawrence, a redshirt freshman who rushed for over 2,000 yards at Sachem, carried 10 times for 62 yards. He's seen time in four games this season, but this is the most work he's compiled.

Overall, Stony Brook rushed for over 400 yards in the win. Some familiar Long Island football names like Brock Jackolski (Floyd) and Miguel Maysonet (Riverhead) are also in the same backfield, making it difficult for Lawrence to break into games at this point as an underclassmen. With Eddie Gowins' (Bellport) departure to California University in Pennsylvania, it has opened up more opportunity.
Next week Stony Brook is on the road at Virginia Military Institute where Lawrence will look to add to his numbers and help the Seawolves in their next Big South conference game.
