DWI Charge For Man After Vehicle Flip Seriously Injures Passenger On Long Island: Police
It struck two parked vehicles; the man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his injuries, cops say.
SELDEN, NY — A Suffolk man was drunk behind the wheel of a Jeep when it crashed into two parked vehicles and flipped, seriously hurting his passenger on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
Francisco Fernandesdosreis was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee northbound, when the vehicle struck two parked vehicles and overturned in front of an apartment complex on College Road just after 5 p.m., according to police.
The passenger in the Jeep, a 70-year-old Farmingville man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Fernandesdosreis, 50, of Selden, was not injured, according to police.
Fernandesdosreis was charged with driving while intoxicated and was held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden pending his arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check, police said.
