Firefighters Tackle Blaze at Ronkonkoma Home

Firefighters battled a blaze at a Ronkonkoma home Saturday evening.

The Holbrook Fire Department was alerted to house fire on Cambridge Avenue just before 5 p.m.

Upon arrival, first responders were met with heavy smoke and fire conditions coming from the home. Assistance was called in from the Holtsville an North Patchogue fire departments.

One occupant of the home was treated for smoke inhalation on scene, but refused further medical attention. No other injuries were reported.

It took about 45 minutes for crews to bring the fire under control. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
