May 10 is National Public Gardens Day. Is there anything more enchanting than a stroll through a garden on a beautiful day? In addition to the library’s Inside/Out, which is a member of the American Public Gardens Association, there are more than 35 public gardens in the New York metro area, including more than 10 right here on Long Island. Take a walk down the virtual garden path with Pat Sommerstad, who will share the best of these garden excursions along with detailed itineraries, tips on nearby attractions, and driving and parking info.

Scrabble, anyone? Is chess your game? Challenge neighbors and friends to a variety of board games every month. Bring a favorite game or use one from the library.
