On Sept. 9, the Sachem Central School District honored the upcoming Patriot Day through a number of events and remembrances. Notably, at Sachem High School North, students held a ceremony at the school’s 9/11 memorial. A student sang a rendition of the national anthem and student essays were read aloud.

Students across the district’s buildings participated in activities to remember and honor the men and women who lost their lives during the Sept. 11 attacks. Many students and staff members stood in solidarity by dressing in red, white and blue.
