School Bus Struck In Drunk Driving Crash In Selden; Driver Taken To Hospital: Police
It happened just after 1 p.m. in Selden, Suffolk police say.
SELDEN, NY — A school bus was struck in the rear by a drunken driver in Selden on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
The bus driver was driving the bus westbound on Middle Country Road, when she stopped at a red light at the intersection of Marshall Drive, and the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2011 Hyundai sedan just after 1 p.m., according to police.
No children were on the bus, police said.

The school bus driver, a 48-year-old woman from Holtsville, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, police said, adding that the driver of the Hyundai, a 31-year-old man from East Moriches, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
The man was not hurt in the crash, according to police.
