RONKONKOMA, NY — Long Island Islip MacArthur Airport experienced arrival and departure delays after a computer outage at the Federal Aviation Administration grounded flights across the United States on Wednesday morning, News 12 reported.

Midday and afternoon flights are on time, the outlet reported.

An Islip Town spokeswoman said, "We sympathize with our airport customers. If you have a flight today, please check with your airline before heading to the airport."

The FAA ordered airlines to pause domestic departures until 9 a.m., allowing for the validation of the integrity of flight and safety information, but it has since been lifted, according to the outlet.
