Lake Grove Bank Robbed

A man robbed a bank in Lake Grove Saturday morning. 

He entered the People’s United Bank, located on 2921 Middle Country Road, at 10:25 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to Suffolk County Police.

Police said the teller complied with the robber’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer and a red dye pack. The dye pack exploded as the man left the bank. He entered a gray four-door sedan, driven by a female, and they fled west on Middle Country Road.

The man is described as white, clean-shaven, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a dark-blue Yankees cap, a gray hooded-sweatshirt, dark sunglasses and dark pants. He is 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the bank robbery to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
