Long Island Man Let Chickens Freeze to Death: SPCA

A Long Island man was arrested on an animal cruelty charge Sunday.

Christopher Fleck, 53, failed to provide proper sustenance, including food, water and allowed four chickens to freeze to death, the Suffolk County SPCA said Tuesday.

The remaining chickens were surrendered and transported to an undisclosed sanctuary.

Fleck, of Lake Ronkonkoma, is scheduled to appear in First District Court on April 2.
