Man Charged In 2 Farmingville Bank Robberies
Police announced an arrest Tuesday night.
FARMINGVILLE, NY – A Holtsville man has been charged with robbing two Farmingville banks earlier this month, Suffolk Police said Tuesday night.
Following an investigation, Major Case Unit detectives arrested Ismael Colon on Feb. 7, police said. Police did not say why it's taken 11 days for the arrest to be announced.
Colon, 41, is accused of robbing a People’s United Bank in Stop & Shop at 2350 North Ocean Ave. on Feb. 2 and Sterling National Bank at 696 Horseblock Road on Feb. 3. No was injured in either robbery.

Colon was charged with two counts of third degree robbery. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Feb. 8. He was released from jail on his own recognizance a few days later and is due back in court on Friday.
