Man Struck, Injured By SUV That Fled Scene In Farmingville: Police

FARMINGDALE, NY — A bicyclist was struck and injured by an SUV that was driven from the scene in Farmingville last week, Suffolk police said Monday.

A man was riding a bicycle westbound on the sidewalk of Portion Road on Aug. 1 at around 7:25 p.m., when he was struck by a black SUV, driven by a man and exiting the parking lot of a gas station located on Portion Road, police said.

The driver fled the scene without stopping, according to police.

In an image from surveillance footage, the man can be seen wearing a red tank top and dark-colored shorts. His hair is closely-cut and he has tattoos on his left arm.

The crime has been classified as leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, according to a police news alert.
