Officers Called To Long Island Middle School After Student 'Displays Knife': Police
Suffolk police were called to the school at around 1 p.m., a spokesperson said.

RONKONKOMA, NY — Suffolk police were called to Ronkonkoma Middle School on Wednesday afternoon after an argument broke out between two students, and one pulled a knife on the other, a police spokeswoman said Thursday.
Officers responded to the school just before 1 p.m. for what a police spokesperson first characterized on Wednesday as "a dispute" between two students.
Suffolk police on Thursday said 5th Precinct Crime Section officers are investigating an incident in which two students "had a verbal altercation and one student displayed a pocket knife."

A police spokeswoman said there was no physical fight and no injuries.
School officials are "handling disciplinary action," she said.

Patch has reached out to Connetquot School District officials for comment.
A statement to parents on Wednesday was forwarded to Patch by a public relations firm.
In the statement, school Principal Joseph Licato said that earlier in the day on Wednesday "police responded to a student-related incident" that was reported to Ronkonkoma Middle School's administration.
"Please be assured that all protocols were taken, the police conducted an investigation, and as a result, the situation has been resolved," he said, adding that "school operations continued as normal."
"As always, school safety, and the safety of our students is our top priority," he said.
A Freedom of Information Law has been filed with Suffolk police to obtain a full report of the incident.
