Sachem Hockey Updates:
On December 12, the Arrows lost to St John's, 5-4, dropping their record to 8-4. Although the score was close, the Arrows played on a half empty tank, as they spotted St. John's two goals into the second period until Nick Tarasco and Chris Chizzoniti tied it up with two quick goals.

That didn't stay long as St. John's responed with two more mid-way into the third. The Arrows weren't done as Chris Porcillo, returning from a three-game suspension, tallied two goals within 13 seconds both short-handed. The score stayed that way until Drew Drasser from St. John's completed his hat trick with the game winning goal with just over two minutess remaining.
"I think we came into the game unprepared and not ready and we let St. John's totally out play us and beat us to every puck," said Sachem coach Al Posillico. "This was a game that should of been won and our total lack or effort throughout the game is what cost us a win."
On December 19, the Arrows dropped their second in a row to West Islip, 5-3.

"It was another game that we let get away from us," Posillico said. "We totally out shot them and were a lot better then the game versus St. John's, but our short bench really hurt us. It's tuff to win a game with 10 skaters, missing three defensemen and three forwards was the big difference."
Brian Giles finally knows what it feels like to lose a varsity game as West Islip got two pucks past him in the first period. The score stayed 2-0 until one minute to go in the first when Chris Porcillo got the Arrows on the score board. One minute into the second Nick Tarasco tied it at two, but that only lasted a small bit as West Islip came right back and scored two more. Chris Porcillo pulled the Arrows to within one, but West Islip sealed it with his third goal an empty netter to secur the win.
"I think we played a lot better the last week, but the short bench really hurt us as we tired and ran out of gas," Posillico said. "I think instead of being 8-6 we should be 11-3. We must come prepared as we play."
Their next game is against Half Hollow Hills this Wednesday at 920 p.m. at The Rinx in Hauppauge.
